Chapter 7 Bankrupcy
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy may result in a “discharge” your debt. Not all debts may be discharged however.
Debts generally eligible for discharge include:
- Home foreclosure debt
- Automobile repossession debt
- Medical bills
- Credit card debt
- Garnishments
- Other non-priority, unsecured debts
Debts generally not eligible for discharge include:
- Student loans
- Most tax debts
- Child support
- Most traffic tickets and Criminal Fines
- Injuries caused by drunk drivers
